Whilst described as glass dildos, these products are actually made from medical grade Pyrex and are both safe and durable. They are not mass-produced but are individually crafted by a master glass blower which explains why they are more expensive in relation to many of the silicone and plastic dildos available on the market. Unlike these other toys, glass is not porous. This has two distinct benefits. Firstly any lubricant applied to the dildo is not absorbed, enabling the lubrication to last longer and be more effective. Secondly, the dildos can be hygienically cleaned so germs cannot harbour in the surface. The manufacturers recommend popping the dildos in your dishwasher - although you might want to move your favourite mug first!

Another advantage over traditional plastic dildos is that glass doesn’t degrade so although glass may initially seem more expensive, if you look after it, it will last you a lifetime.

One of the other great features of glass is that you can achieve different sensations by either running it under warm water for a few seconds (make sure the water isn’t hot as it may be tricky explaining to the doctor how you got the burns!) or conversely by placing it in the fridge.

Finally, unlike their plastic counterparts, these products actually are a work of art and very pleasing to look at.
