"They’re absolutely beautiful" my friend said when I showed her the latest pictures from the Eternal Spirits range. "I ‘ve got to get a couple of those – how much are they?"...
"How much?" she gasped when I told her the price. And that is a standard reaction when people look at these garments for the first time. "I could get one of those from the High Street for £60" she said – "why would I want to spend £200?" And that’s true – there are many so called corsets sold by every shop from Asda and Tesco upwards so what makes Eternal Spirits garments different?

Well for a start, these are individual garments all made to order. Eternal Spirits do not carry stock so you can be sure that no-one else has tried on the corset before you (unlike some of the make up covered items in the shops) neither has the garment been sitting around a warehouse waiting for someone to buy it.

More Personal Sizing

This is one of the major benefits of these fabulous garments. Because they are made to order, they cover a larger range of sizes from a petite size 6 to a fuller figured size 20. (Please note that size 18 is subject to a 5% price increase and size 20 is subject to a 10% price increase). Putting it off because you plan to lose weight? No problem – the corsets are designed to cope with a gain or loss of up to 10lbs in weight. A corset laced up with a slight gap down the back looks very sexy, however we recommend that the corset isn’t laced with a wider gap than 4”. For a £10.00 surcharge you could have a back plate made if you regularly fluctuate in size. If you lose a lot of weight in the future (aren’t we all planning to?), the corset can be taken in for a £50 surcharge, ensuring you can continue to wear your favourite piece for years to come.

Eternal Spirits also offer a bespoke made to measure service so if you fall outside of standard sizing or just prefer a corset tailor made to your own measurements please contact us directly. A made to measure corset or piece of lingerie will be subject to a 25% surcharge of the original corset price.

The corsets take anywhere between 2-4 inches off the natural waist measurement for a corseted waist so are extremely flattering to all figures and with the vast choice of styles, materials and colours, there really is something for everyone.

Much of Eternal Spirits business comes from word of mouth which is all the more impressive when you consider they have made corsets for the likes of the Scissor Sisters and Dita Von Teese through to Royalty. Their corsets have also been made for film, performance, music video, stage and historical costume.

When you buy an Eternal Spirits corset, you are buying a real designer item. All of the corsets arrive in a corset box gift wrapped with ribbons and tissue paper. This is a real decadent purchase.

Quality

The old adage you get what you pay for is particularly true of these garments. All pieces are handcrafted in house and corsets are made to traditional Victorian corsetry techniques. Only the finest materials are used and the choice of steel bones ensures that there is no warping as can happen on inferior products. Eternal Spirits makes long line corsets so you don’t get an unsightly gap between the tops of your jeans and the bottom of the corset.

Value for Money

If you look after it properly, your corset will last for years. These garments cannot be put in the washing machine. In fact, you should never use water as this will result in the steel bones rusting. All corsets will require dry cleaning and leather corsets should always have specialist leather dry cleaning and an occasional treatment with leather conditioner to keep the leather supple. Before huge dry cleaning bills flash before your eyes, your corset will not need cleaning often. If you let the corset air away from direct sunlight this should be enough for the most part.

And now we come back full circle to the cost. Yes they are expensive but we hope we have gone some way to explain why. Perhaps another way to consider it is to look at the potential cost per wear. You could buy a cheaper corset from the High Street for £60, wear it a couple of times, throw it in the wash, wear it again and then it starts to look a bit shoddy or starts to lose shape. The cost per wear is £6 (£60 worn 10 times.)
